Round 3 of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championships at Landrake hosted by DKS Sports

After a few very heavy showers in the days prior to this meeting the track conditions looked almost perfect for this meeting although maybe a bit too soft on top.

In timed practice current series leaders, Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain were an incredible 8.866 seconds faster than second placed Richard Jenkins / Dan Chamberlain, possibly because they managed a clear lap not impeded by slower riders. In third place was Jack Etheridge / Scott Grahame but Jack hurt his 'bad' shoulder during the session and was seen trying to find a physio afterwards.

In race one Jenkins took the holeshot from Brown with Jarvis / Humphrey third. On the second lap Brown took the lead from Jenkins with Jarvis now coming under pressure from Bradford for third place. Millard was now fifth with Wilkinson eighth just behind Etheridge. By half distance Brown had pulled away from Jenkins whilst Millard was now up to fourth but under pressure from Etheridge. This battle went on for four laps until Etheridge made the pass to take fourth place. With just three laps to go Etheridge tipped the outfit and dropped to seventh place. Brown took the win from Jenkins with Jarvis third and Millard fourth.

The second race saw Etheridge take the holeshot from Jenkins, Jarvis and Brown in fourth. Etheridge only held the lead for one lap before being passed by Jenkins and Brown and on lap three Brown took the lead. On the fourth lap Etheridge made a mistake and dropped down to eighth place whilst at the front Brown was starting to pull away from Jenkins. With two laps to go Millard really closed the gap on Jenkins and continued to push him all the way to the line. Brown took the win with Jenkins second and Millard third. Etheridge worked his way up to sixth at the flag.

The final race of the day was one of the best of the year to date. Wilkinson took the holeshot from Millard with Brown in third. Before the end of lap one Brown had crashed and dropped back to fifth whilst at the front Wilkinson started to pull away from Millard. In his efforts to open the gap he was lucky to survive an ambitious jump out of the top field when the bike landed virtually vertical. On lap three his race was over when he crashed heavily just after the finish line. On the same lap Brown got into trouble again and the spectators could not understand what had happened to his normal smooth style. Just before the half way point Brown was up to second and set about closing the gap on Millard. Behind these two Jarvis was holding third but he was taken by Etheridge on lap six. For four laps Brown was in the wheel tracks of Millard but was unable to find a way past. Finally on the very last lap he made his move on an uphill jump and took the lead. He went on to take the win from Millard with Etheridge finishing third. After the race it became know that Brown had lost his front brake on lap one hence all the excursions off the racing line.

Brown with another perfect score now leads the championship by 47 points from Millard with Jenkins a further 14 points behind in third.

The next round is at Lyng on 27th July when Brown will be hoping to continue his unbeaten run while the others will be doing their best to stop him.
