If Lew’ go down in the woods today

LL&DC Round 2 of the conducted championship headed to the popular venue of Cwm Allis near Llangollen with 24 youth riders geared up to take on the mini forest trial.  An un-expected visitor was perfect weather which was not forecast which made for perfect conditions.

5 Sections awaited 3 classes, with everything in a forest trial you would expect, streams, roots, climbs, descents and a little mud, perfect concentration was key in all classes.

The white route beginners sections were all designed to encourage standing up and break control, taking 3rd on 11 marks was birthday boy Jak Hollingsworth, 2nd on 8 was local rider Joe Chard and 1st on 6 marks lost was the ever improving Rhys Gelder.

The intermediate route gets tougher every round, with ever increasing numbers showing the young riders are getting better all the time.  Taking 3rd place on 12 marks lost was Alex Gelder, with only 2 dabs difference in 2nd was Daniel Jones and in 1st on 3 marks lost showing great confidence was Aaron Chadwick.

Hats off to all the red route riders, all efforts were made to make it challenging but enjoyable with most sections attracting crowds from the adult trial riders and spectators, the red route riders really impressed everyone.  In first place in the C Class was Ryan Shepherd on 16 marks lost.

The D class red route saw club regular Morgan Shepherd take 3rd place on 25 marks lost, 2nd on 19 was Yorkshire’s Charlie Crossland, taking the win on an amazing clean scorecard was Chirk lad Lewis Hurdsman who was also presented with rider of the day award sponsored by A N Richards.

With massive thanks to all involved and for supporting the club.

Next event is Sunday 7th September.
