SHIPTON HEADING FOR A REPEAT PERFORMANCE AT LITTLE SILVER

Jake Shipton on the Crescent Racing KTM will be out for a repeat performance this Sunday June 1st as the Phoenix Tools Premier motocross Championship heads to Little Silver Moto Parc, Exeter for round 4 in the series

The last round at Crediton Raceway produced some excellent racing with Shipton taking his first ever overall in the Experts, but its still defending Champion Luke Hawkins on the Phoenix Tools Rocket Honda who heads the standings by 24 points from team mate Alex Snow who is 30 points ahead of Shipton. Other riders which will be looking to do well will the likes of 2012 Champion Jamie Skuse on the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki, 4 times winner John May on the St Blazey Husqvarna, TwoNineTwo Honda rider James Dodd, Kelvin Townsend on the Phoenix Tools Rocket Honda, Tyremarks KTM rider Mike Rowe, Luke Mellows on the Oakleaf Kawasaki, Luke Dean on the Meredith Suzuki, D S C Kawasaki pairing of Tommy Alba and Sunny Thompson, Brad Cavill on the St Blazey Honda plus many others.

In the Over 35 Championship its Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance/ St Blazey Yamaha who heads the proceedings from fellow Gibbs Performance rider Jamie Deadman on the KTM with Stephen Elford on the Gabriel Insulations/ Chichester Honda just 10 points adrift in 3rd who will be looking to close that gap by the end of the day, but also looking to do well will be the likes of Keith Hanson on the Hansons Garage Honda, former Champion on the SR75/Molson Suzuki Martyn Tucker and Rob Lewis on the Tony Maunders Racing KTM to name a few.

The Over 40’s class sees Chris Brown on the Factory Touch Honda with a slender lead over the Projuice KTM rider David Ford who has a 27 points advantage over defending Champion Steve Locke on the S J Hodder Honda in 3rd, but it wont be plain sailing for any of the leading three as there is plenty of other talent in attendance just as there is in the Over 50’s which has Mark Gleadhill heading the Championship from Steve Chugg, but just one point adrift in 3rd is Adrian Toy who is just 6 points ahead of David Lidbetter in 4th so the battle is set.

In the Junior Championship at the last round we had a new Championship leader in the shape of Jack Stevens who has a slender 52 points lead over Olly Jones in 2nd, but just 6 points behind Jones in the standings is Toby Harvey, but as with other rounds there are many riders who could shine.

Little Silver Moto Parc has easy parking with excellent viewing and will be signposted off the end of the M5 Motorway at Kenn with the first race at 10-30. There are still a few spaces available, so if you would like to ride give Mel a call on 01626 365335
