No Limits Trials Academy held round 3 of the OSET Cup South Championship in beautiful weather at Offham in Kent. 20 riders enjoyed 4 laps of 6 sections, with 4 lines to cover the different ages and abilities. On the easiest orange route, riders were treated to a challenging mix of hills, turns, small rocks and log-combinations. Max Dance celebrated his 4th birthday with a new OSET 20.0 Lite and rode to 4th place, behind the stylish Rowan Dean on his immaculate 16.0-Racing in 3rd. The top three were separated by just a few points, with James Watson in second, a mere 1 point behind first time winner Elliot Smith.
Next route up was the yellows, with equally close scores. Daniel Dabreo in 4th, Joe Dear in 3rd, and Josh Dear in 2nd were separated by only 3 points. Clear winner on the day was the Sam Meeton, using a lot of trials bicycle inspired skills on his OSET 20.0.
The harder red route saw Stefan Richardson and Connor Heathfield move up from yellows for the first time. Both rode with a lot of confidence after competing in the previous weekends youth National in Scarborough.
Sophie Bailey also rode in Scarborough, and seemed to be riding more aggressively. She had some space between her, Stefan and Connor, and took a fine third place. A special treat for the day was having D-Medium wheels National Champion Jack Dance ride on a borrowed OSET 20.0 Eco.
Jack almost cleaned the course, but had a lapse in one section for a 2.
That put him in second place, behind the winner of all 3 rounds so far - the smooth Mason Meadows. Very close!
Jack Dance rode round with his Hook Woods training partner Oliver Smith, who rode his own super hard blue line. Oliver keeps asking organiser Andy Hogg to make the sections harder. Some were as hard as club expert level, and Oliver still went round for a mere 14 points.
A great day out! Beautiful sunshine, loads of happy faces, and even some birthday cake! This is how trials should always be!
