Double Irish Road Race Champion, Jamie Hamilton has confirmed he will in action at the opening road race of the 2014 season, the Ian Watson Spring Cup which takes place on Sunday 13th April at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough.
Having amicably parted from long-time mentor Ryan Farquhar, the 22 year old engineer will be having his initial outing on Stewart Smiths SuperTwin machine which was ridden to many victories last year by Dean Harrison.
The young Ulsterman will want to emulate his Yorkshire rival, although he has the daunting prospect of racing against his previous sponsor, fellow Ulsterman and multi-race winner Ryan Farquhar who is making his return to road racing.
Certainly Farquhar and Hamilton are no strangers to battling fiercely for the coveted chequered flag and their friendly rivalry will be fired-up once the racing gets underway on the tight 2.430-mile hillside North Yorkshire course.
The meeting will consist of 13 races catering for machines from 125cc up to Superbike's plus the popular Formula 2 Sidecars.
Practice commences at 9.00am on the morning of the 13th with the first race scheduled for 12.30pm.
The bikers’ village campsite, adjacent to the circuit, will be in full swing on Saturday night with a disco and late bar, this is open to race day ticket holders only, who can purchase tickets at the main spectator entrance from 2.00pm on Saturday 12th.
Admission for adults is £20 with accompanied children 15 years and under free, camping is available at £10 per pitch per night for a tent or £15 for a motor-home or caravan. This facility is open only to race day ticket holders.
Advance Admission Tickets are still available up to April 4th, which allow entrance into the Race Paddock can be obtained by contacting the Race Office on 01723-373000 between 10.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.
