The South’s big Trial of the weekend
The PUTOLINE/APICO SURREY TRIAL was run by the HOOKWOOD TRIALS CLUB on their own land at the Hookwood Trials Centre, West Horsley, Surrey. The event was also the sole Surrey County Trials Championship event of the year for Youth and Adults and was open to all ACU riders from all areas.

There was an excellent entry of 100 riders, who competed over three laps of twelve sections, over a variety of terrain, consisting of mud, tree roots, banks, fallen trees and many rocks, even a section with Scottish Caledonian boulders named after Sam Connor’s daughter named ROSY"S ROCKS.

There was a titanic battle on the Expert Elite route, between the South’s top three trials riders: Sam Connor, Sam Haslam and Alexz Wigg. Entry to Elite conditions where riders had to stay together and help each other, showing their skills to the youngsters in attendance and above all really enjoy their day. The Club would like to congratulate these competitors, because they did exactly what was asked of them, in so doing creating a lot of interest as can be seen when viewing the Clubs Facebook page.

Sam Connor riding his John Lampkin 300 Beta managed to hold off JST Gas Gas riders Alexz Wigg and Sam Haslam to take the win and the PUTOLINE/APICO TROPHY.
