The 2014 ACU British Quadcross Championship is go!
The ACU British Quadcross Championship is to be relaunched in 2014 with an exciting new series being run across some of the UK's best tracks.

Following consultation with several quad racing clubs, the ACU Motocross Committee has decided to work in partnership with a new series promoter that knows the sport inside out to help revitalise the series.

Consequently the UK's biggest quad racing club, Nora MX, will promote the series on behalf of the ACU in 2014, with an option to extend the deal for a further two years.

The first two rounds of the championship will run alongside existing Nora MX events, while the remainder will likely run within some of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championship meetings, which has proved  a successful format in the past. Dates and venues for the sidecar series have already been published.

The first two rounds have been finalised and will be run at two of Britain's premier tracks - Pontrilas on April 20th and Foxhills on May 26th.

The remaining dates and venues will be confirmed shortly, but are likely to encompass the North, East and South of England to make it a true National Championship. As in previous years, an Under 21 championship will also be incorporated within the main the championship.

Prize money will be paid on an individual round basis with an additional overall prize fund for the series which will be payable provided the winners attend all the rounds.

ACU MX Chairman Brian Higgins commented, "Quad racing remains very important to the ACU, so we are delighted to be relaunching the British championship in partnership with a team that really knows and loves the sport."

"To have Nora MX as a Series Promoter, and specifically its chairman Chris Murphy with his extensive knowledge of the quad scene, is great, especially as he has a knack of getting full line-ups."

"The aim now is to finalise a championship that takes in the whole country and some of the best tracks on offer. Then what we need is the riders to support it so we can all have a British championship to be proud of."

As in 2013 the Nora MX Masters championship will continue to be given official ACU British Championship status in 2014, after the runaway success of the arrangement this year, which saw more than 50 riders compete over the nine rounds.

Plus, in an exciting development for youth quad racing in the UK, the 250 class at Nora MX will also now be given official ACU British championship status in 2014.

Full details of all the Nora MX dates and venues have already been published and are available at www.nora-mx.org.uk
