It is with great sadness that we have to report the death on Sunday 17th November of Jim Bacon at the age of 83, after a short illness. Jim was the current ACU Benevolent Fund Officer for the South Eastern Centre, having taken on this job in 1998.
Jim had been the South Eastern Centre Ministry of Defence Land Liaison Officer from 1986 until 2001. He was President of the Centre for the years 1995 and 1996.
Jim had been a member of the Hayes and Southall Club then the Twickenham Club for most of his life, as a Grass Track rider then an official at Grass Track and Motocross meetings.
He was Treasurer of the Twickenham Club in the 70’s and 80’s and its President for twenty years.
His last official task was in his familiar role collecting spectators’ entrance fees at Twickenham’s Motocross in September this year.
The Funeral will take place on Tuesday, 3rd December 2013 at 11am
