The Horsforth club are gearing up for their twenty sixth Bob Owen Charity Trial on Saturday at the Park Wood Off-Road Centre at Tong, Bradford.
The trial has raised a total of £52,850 since the first event in November 1988. Many charities have benefitted including Children in Need, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Auto Cycle Union’s Benevolent Fund.
The instigators of the event, Steve and Tony Fowler, John Wilson and Martin Fairburn, will be present on the day. The R.G. Owen Trial, or Bob Owen as he was generally known was originally to commemorate the name of the former Yorkshire Centre President, ACU Steward, Speedway Referee, and one time scrambler.
The venue is where the Inter Centre Team was staged in June this year. Martin Fairburn will be acting as Clerk of Course while his father Barry will be accepting entries right up to the start time of 11.00 am Regulations are in Trials+Motocross News.
