Haworth property renovator Dan Clark hit the headlines in the Jersey newspapers on Monday after he swept to overall victory in the annual Jersey Two Day Trial leaving ninety nine other competitors wondering just who was this newcomer who dominated the event.
Not only did the former Youth trials champion win by a mile but his travelling partner was Crossroads entrepreneur Phil Disney who was the Yorkshire trials champion three years ago. Phil stood on the rostrum after taking second place ahead of local ace Nick Baker. Dan was loaned a Beta trials machine by Colin Applyard Off-Road Manager Kevin Feeny for the event while Phil competed on his Future Repsol Honda.
The last time Dan that ventured abroad, for the French Four Day Trial in July, ended in disaster with a gashed leg that required fifteen stitches and an immediate flight back home. Added Dan “We had a great weekend, the result was bonus for Phil and I”.
