The inaugural International Six Days Trial (ISDT) was held in August 1913, when 160 riders set off from the centre of Carlisle to tackle a challenging 1000-mile route comprising tracks, unmade roads and severely steep hills. Such is the popularity of the British-born event that it has grown in strength to become the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), with teams from all around the world competing for the World Trophy.
To celebrate the ISDT’s centenary, the International Dirt Bike Show team is inviting as many team members – club, manufacturer or national – who have had an association with the world-famous event over the years, to come along to the International Dirt Bike Show on Friday 1
st November 2013, for an anniversary get together.
In that very first ISDT there were 59 motorcycle manufacturers represented. Now those early days of multiple manufacturers are long gone, but the Dirt Bike Show organiser is putting together an ISDT/ISDE-dedicated modern and classic display and is looking for appropriate machines to exhibit. If anyone has a machine representing any era of the event and would like to share it with like-minded enthusiasts, then Tim Britton at Mortons is the man to speak to.
Mortons is offering free admission and refreshments to the first 50 applicants and wants to hear from people connected to the event, whether modern, recent past and as far back as they can get, for instance Johnny Brittain is thought to be the oldest surviving ISDT gold medal winner, picking his up as a teenager in the 1949 event staged in Wales.

The advance booking box office is now open and huge savings can be made by buying in advance.
Thanks to its tremendous success last year, half-price Thursday for adults is back again in 2013. This means an adult buying a ticket in advance can gain entry for just £6, or the on-the-door price for the Thursday will be just £7.50. Children aged ten and under go free.
As in previous years, the tickets are also modestly priced for the Friday and over the weekend of the Show too. Ticket prices are £12 in advance and £15 on-the-door for adults; £6 in advance and £7.50 on-the-door for children aged 11 and over and also for senior citizens; £10 on-the-door for students. Families travelling together can make further savings with tickets priced at just £30 in advance for two adults and two children aged 11 to 15, or £40 on the door.
