All to play for in Bowers Motorcycles 2 Man Championship

Monday October 14, 2013 at 10:40am
It is everything to ride for in all three Classes this Sunday, 20th October, at the last round of the Bowers Motorcycles 2 Man Contest being staged at Tye Farm Great Cornard near Sudbury by the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club.

Currently leaders in the Championship Class, Tom Braddock (Lowestoft) and Toby Morley (Woodbridge) have a 12 point lead over second place Adam Ranson and Mark Chapman (both Diss) but with 20 points for first place Braddock/Morley need to have a steady ride and a lowly 7th place would yield them 9 points and the Title.  If they fail they are guaranteed 2nd place more than Ranson/Chapman because if they fail to score then hot on their heels are Adam Leeks/Darren Mayhew (Woodbridge), Michael Wyatt/Richard Bensley (Diss) and Stephen Revett (Stowmarket)/Lee Whitney (Diss).

The Expert Class is a little closer with Phil Roper/Paul Belton (Sudbury) holding a four point lead over fellow Club members Nigel Ross/ Graham Mays and both these pairs are guaranteed 2nd of 3rd place because currently lurking in 3rd place are the Lowestoft pair of Graham Lazzari/ Martin Spence and could steal the Expert Title.  This year will be the last chance for Roper to win this Class as next year he will be promoted to the Championship Class by virtue of his second place in the Solo Contest.

There is nothing to separate the top two in the Clubman Class as both David & Martin Stevens (Diss) and Tom Sargent (Bury) and Ross Taylor (Diss) are equal in every way on 67 points each, with one first, one second and two thirds apiece.  The Clubman Title between these two pairs will be decided on the day but if they both finish on equal number of laps and have the same special test times there will be nothing to separate them and they would become joint Title winners which have never happened in the history of this Contest.

The event starts at 10am for two hours and restart at 1pm for another two hours with the course being ridden in the opposite direction and the first lap will be timed for the all-important special test.
