This Saturday (yes Saturday) the final round of the 2013 Phoenix Tools Premier motocross Championship is set to take place at Landrake Moto Parc, where there has been great interest with nigh on a full entry in all classes.
In the Expert Open Championship it is the Phoenix Tools Honda of Luke Hawkins who goes in to the final round with a fair lead, but with double points on offer he knows he has to stay focus to lift the title. Joining Hawkins will be the likes of former Champion John May; last years Champion Jamie Skuse, James Dodd, Tom Moore, Kelvin Townsend, Luke Mellows, Todd Kellett, 2013 SWOR Champion Mike Rowe, Tom Harvey plus many more including making his first appearance in the Championship will be wildcard Brad Anderson onboard the Buildbase Honda who will be looking to do well.
In the Tyremarks Junior Championship it’s the K J Services KTM of Jay Thomas who leads the Championship by 155 points, but this lead could be lost with a DNF so he will have to be at his best. Currently in 2nd is Anthony Milliar who heads Lewis Barfoot in 3rd by literally just 2 points so this battle will go down to the wire. Other riders who will be hoping to do well will include Josh Gilbert who totally dominated the last round, Toby Harvey, Ryan Williams plus many more.
In the Over 35 Championship Mark Wilde leads the proceedings by 78 points over Gavin Flagg who has last years Champion Jason Fraser not too far behind him in 3rd, but there is plenty of other talent in attendance like Jamie Deadman, Rick Hanson and Rob Lewis to name a few.
In the Over 40 class it’s Steve Locke who will be looking to take the title as will Keith Hanson who returns from a broken hand in the Over 50’s who had his Championship lead cut to just 28 points when his nearest rival took a hat trick of wins at the last round.
Landrake Moto Parc has excellent viewing with easy parking and will be signposted just 5 minutes South of the Tamar Bridge on the A38 with the first race at 10-30am.
