ACU Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British Youth Class A & B Trials Championship Final Round This Weekend
It will crunch time, literally, when the contenders in the A.C.U. Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British Class A and B Youth Trials Championship contenders crash and clatter over the rugged unyielding sections at Bracken Rocks on Sunday. The Holloway venue is one mass of hardware and mistakes are punished severely.

Mansfield Maun closes the series with a course masterminded by Terry Crabtree and his sidekick Thomas McDowell. The latter utilizes his Bonsall Valley View Landscaping hardware to modify sections. Just how Thomas gets his earth and rock moving equipment up Bracken Rocks is a closely guarded secret. Walking up the rock strewn woods is hard enough.

The game plan is three laps of twelve sections with five hours time allowance but the weather on the day may bring some changes to the schedule. The two classes are near glowing at the sharp end. As far the form book, that will depend on what mood Bracken Rocks is on Sunday morning.

Kirbymoorside six footer Dan Peace starts holding a three point advantage over Jack Price but the latter has a mathematical advantage with a mere eleven point drop score on his card while has a seventeen drop to overcome. It will be win or nothing for Dan. Wallsend Birkett Ossa rocket Billy Bolt trails Peace by ten points while James Stones is twenty one down on the leader. James, Billy and Welsh champion Iwan Roberts maybe too far down to make an impact in the points but all three could and will rock the Peace/Price boat.

The other unknown quantity is Nikita Smith who is Class status but mixes, and beats, the adult female contenders. Ann, Miss Smith is also world ranked and capable of giving the lads something to dwell on. Porlock MRS Sherco teamster Tom Hooper is ten championship points up on Shropshire’s Thomas Minta and he has three victories on his card while Sam Yeoman’s and Cornish traveller Toby Martyn will not be travelling to Derbyshire to view the scenery.

The rule for Bracken Rocks is no overnight camping. Catering and other essentials will be on site. A brief warning though.

The approach road down the hill from Holloway is closed so access is via the A6 at the Derwent Hotel via Whatstandwell village.

Jack Price and Thomas Minta lead the field off at 11.01.
