2013 International Six Day Enduro, Olbia, Sardinia Day 4 Report: GB Junior 3rd, GB Trophy 6th
It’s status quo for Team GB on day four of the 2013 International Six Days Enduro in Sardinia. Despite a new course and a tight check the results have stayed the same, Team GB continue to hold third in the Juniors, sixth in the Trophy competition.

ACU GB ISDE Team Manager, Dusty Martin: “The track changed today but the conditions remained the same – fast, dry dusty tests, not too technical so that they stand up to the 600 plus riders that go through them. So it’s hard to make gains with very little to trip a competitor up. There was a tight check today but at this level that doesn’t catch anyone out, the guys know the job. It’s hard work, but nothing that’s going to trouble a professional racer.

“All our riders are pulling their load equally and riding to the best of their abilities, setting consistent times. There’s still almost nothing between Daryl, Jack and Tom on accumulated time – quite amazing after four days. Today, Danny had probably his worst day this week – but even there we’re just talking a matter of seconds lost, not minutes – just a handful of seconds is the difference between top-three and top-six, it’s that kind of a competition.

“The lads are very slick in the work sessions, though, and that’s probably a reflection on ACU BEC rules that make sure the riders do all their own work. Our riders are having no problems with changing both tyres and air filter – even doing an oil change yesterday – all within the 15 minute time limit.

“The support crews have been working tirelessly too. There are some serious logistical issues to deal with, we had a check today that was miles down a dead-end road. With the parked cars of so many fans, two-way traffic and competitors flying through it’s a pressured situation, but we’ve had crew on every test and every check on time. Tomorrow it’s the same course as today, let’s see what comes!”
