Lakes MTA British Trials Championship Preview
This year's British Trials Championships comes to its conclusion on Sunday 15th September when the Lakes Trials association hosts the final round at Fell Green, Bootle Cumbria. The all important postcode is LA19 9SY. The venue has unlimited parking although there will be a small charge per car.

The club are really enthused with the sections they have on offer and the 12 subs feature rocky outcrops, river and waterfall going. Although it could be a fair walk to get around all 12 sections there are plenty within very easy reach of the car park so there is something for everyone.

Overnight camping is on offer but there is no fresh water on site.

The 2013 series has been pretty successful with some challenging events that has drawn good reports and this time there is an almost inevitable showdown between current British Champion James Dabill and his main rival Michael Brown. With Fell Green being a new venue for the BTC there are no previous form indicators to work from.

It currently stands however with Dabill holding a slight advantage on 57 points to Browns 54. Dib's won at the West of England and Richmond events whilst Michael took victory at the St David's. The intriguing thing is that if Browny wins at the Lakes they would be level on points in this four round series. It would then come down to the tie breaker rule and the title would go to the Gas Gas rider as the winner of the last event. James however will be in no mood to relinquish his run of titles so the battle should be a cracker.  Third place in the standings is currently held by Ross Danby on the Jotagas but after a slightly disappointing result in Richmond he is under some pressure from Sam Connor and Alex Wigg. Only 4 points separates them in the fight for the number 3 bib so a very interesting sub plot exists here also.

Don't forget also to look out for Declan Bullock who has been riding the 125 cc Beta in the top group all season

The Expert class has also had a very good season and as we come into the last event it is Cumbrian Darren Brice who holds the advantage. Darren has already won this title of couple of seasons back and on home territory the veteran Sherco rider will be looking to make it two British titles. His main rival comes in the shape of young Jack Stones who has come through superbly this season taking a good class win at the Neath round. Jack is however eleven points behind Bricey so it is probably to bigger ask this year. He would need to win with Darren out of the top six to get the title. It is as always however not just about 2 riders as Tom Affleck, Buster Regan and James Carr have also made the podium in the class this year.

The event will start at 9.30 Sunday morning when the Experts will be first away. There is the usual 2hours 30 time allowance for the completion of lap one and a 5 hour overall limit. By mid afternoon Sunday we should know who our 2013 Champions are.
