Michael Dunlop Claims Classic Formula 1 TT Win

Michael Dunlop continued his success on the Isle of Man Mountain Course, taking an impressive victory in the inaugural Classic Formula One TT and adding to his advantage in the Duke Road Race Rankings Series.

However, it was Chris Palmer who was 'Man of the Meeting' winning two races on the same day.

The Castletown rider opened his account with a win in the Classic 350cc TT race on the Ripley Land Honda twin and followed that in the afternoon winning the Classic Formula Two race on the Rob Brew Racing Yamaha by under ten seconds from a hard chasing James Cowton, with Philip McGurk third.

The Isle of Man Classic TT Races, round 19 in the 2013 Duke Series witnessed some exciting racing in excellent conditions the opening race, the 500cc Classic TT seeing the race win going to Olie Linsdell on the Paton. William Dunlop and James Coward were second and third.

The Classic 250cc race win went to Jonathan Cutts, followed by Pete Wakefield and Geoff Bates. 

The Formula Classic TT Race provided the closest finish of the six races, by 0.174 of a second. Dean

Harrison pipping Gavin Lupton, having had to hold his petrol tank in place with his knees for most of the four-lap 150-mile race! Manxie Chris McGahan filled the final podium place.
