OSET PENRITH PODIUMS

It was a clean sweep for OSET Bikes in the open electric trial, for E and D Class riders.  The electric bike manufacturer continues to dominate the competition as OSET riders took the top three places across all classes.

Kids and parents’ favourite trials superstar, Dougie Lampkin made all the riders feel that extra bit special, when he joined the youngsters to hand out medals and trophies to everyone that took part.

Finishing first in the E-Class was Colin Appleyard rider, 6 year old Myles Hutchinson from Keighley.  Hot on his heels was Charlie Crossland on a trick OSET while George Hemingway came in third.

The sections provided by Dirt Bike Action team were then adjusted for the older D-Class riders, who were split by medium and large wheel classes.

Morgan Shepherd from Preston showed just how good a rider he is by taking the well-deserved top spot on the podium!  He was joined by Charlie Kripps and Kian Powell, all riding OSET 16 36v bikes.

At the top of the hill, it was a disappointing day for, Dan Hemingway who was minding Jack Challoner but a different story at the bottom!  His eldest son Harry stepped up to take first place in the D-Class large wheels after some brilliant riding.  With the two brothers both taking home trophies it was an award filled finish to the weekend for the Hemingway family.  An ever improving Harry Turner finished in second place with Dominic Horne behind him in third.

The event was made all the more special when some of the trials superstars turned up to watch the youngsters ride and be on hand to sign autographs.  Feriado, James Dabill and French no 1 Gubian were all impressed by just how accomplished these young riders are on these small bikes, and took time out to speak to parents and riders.

The Lakes Grasstrack Racing Club, topped the event off with the Red Bull Sound System and a podium that mirrored the one used by the likes of Tony Bou and Adam Raga.

Dave Horne from OSET Bikes, said: “It was a challenging, technical course but the kids loved it!  To see children travelling from all over the UK including the Isle of Man, meeting old friends and making new ones was brilliant.  It’s events like this that are helping build the future of youth trials riding and great credit the WTC organisers for making it happen.”
