2013 ACU Inter Centre Team Trial, Youths and Girls. Parkwood Offroad Centre Tong, Saturday

Tuesday July 2, 2013 at 11:09am

Resplendent in natty blue East Yorks Centre riding shirts the boys and girls in the Centre teams delivered a resounding result in the first Inter Centre Team Trial for two years when their Youths and Girls teams topped the results beating fifteen other teams at the Parkwood Offroad Centre at Tong, just four miles from the centre of Bradford.

It was the third time for the Centre under the supervision of Jayne Peace and Andrew Smith. This was not fluke victory by any means with the might of the Yorkshire Centre on home ground. As far as the individual scores Iwan Roberts repeated his Mintex effort and posted a three score, one under Kirkbymoorside's Dan Peace and Arkengarthale six footer James Stones.

Two girl teams started and it was obvious that Fryups' Nikita Smith's international sorties put the Fryup teenager a gear up on the other young ladies. Beth Waite held sway in Class B but Hannah Richardson could not really get on terms with Nikita who rides adult non -scoring in the Ladies and Girls national championship series. Skeeby cousins Niamh and Hannah Richardson rode for Yorkshire girls while Hurworth's Beth Waite was a member of the winning girls team The event was well supported with teams from Scotland, Wales, the West Country and Ireland and Ulster.
