Allan Jefferies Trophy Trial-07-07-13
Just one month away and the Allan Jefferies Trophy Trial is well into the preparation stages. Experienced trialler Richard Taylor takes on the duties of Clerk of Course from retiring official Barry Fairbrother who has steered the Yorkshire Dales national trial for many years. Assistant section planner and builder Dave Wilson who has been with Barry Fairbrother for years steps up to become head of section building with Mark Savage.

Kath Eddings will act as Event Secretary and will be based in the Halton Gill Reading Rooms where by tradition the Halton Gill Ladies will be serving their usual mouth watering totally home cooked and baked food and beverages. Rumour has it that many riders enter just to enjoy the  catering. Everything on line for a Day in the Dales and the only appeal from Ron Eddings is for observers with or without machines. The course will track previous years with probably  Fountains Fell, Arncliffe , Sleets, Park Rash, Hubberholme and Willks Pastures with a finale up Halton Gill Waterfall.

Only one word of warning. The roads in Wharfedale are narrow and packed with tourist in summer so transit vans are not user friendly in some areas.
