With just a month to go until Donington Park’s showpiece event of the year, the entertainment schedule for this year’s UK round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship on 27-29 May has been confirmed, including rider appearances and live music.
This year all ticket holders benefit from an open paddock which means fans will be able to get up close to their favourite riders throughout the weekend. The popular Paddock Show will feature the usual star rider appearances, guests from the world of motorcycle racing, interviews with team managers, champion rider appearances, meet and greet sessions, post qualifying and race shows with the top three riders, and giveaways.
In addition, the Riders for Health charity auction will take place on Saturday evening at the Paddock Show, offering fans the opportunity to bid on special merchandise and other memorabilia, with replica bikes on display throughout. Fans will also be able to test their skills on simulators in the MOTUL zone, and enjoy an exclusive performance from the CIA Landlords Insurance Team in concert!
Campers are in for a treat this year, as for the first time, public camping will be on the circuit infield. Campers can enjoy a whole range of off-track entertainment including the appearance of undisputed ‘King’ of World Superbikes, Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty, Alex Lowes, Sylvain Guintoli, Kyle Ryde and Chaz Davies on Saturday evening for a question and answer session hosted by Niall Mackenzie, which will include autograph opportunities.
Further to this will be live bands on both Friday and Saturday evenings, with Arc Isla and Broken Toys playing on Friday, and Mystery Train and Iron Tyger performing on Saturday.
Nottingham band Arc Isla will be playing a selection of their own music as well as notable indie rock covers, while Leicester’s Broken Toys cover a range of tracks from the past five decades. Sunday evening entertainers Mystery Train will perform a range of 60s and 70s rock and roll, while powerful rock anthems from the likes of AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Queen and Whitesnake form part of the repertoire of Iron Tyger.
There will also be live DJs and even a children’s disco to keep all ages entertained once racing finishes on track.
