BUMPER ENTRY FOR PDMCC SEASON OPENER

Monday April 25, 2016 at 2:29pm
Preston and District’s first meeting of 2016 is finally here, and the best entry in recent years is expected to descend on Three Sisters circuit for an all-action race day this coming Sunday.

Well over 100 riders have entered the meeting and with most classes now full, the club is delighted to welcome faces new and old to this first round of the year.

A slight revamp of classes – and the introduction of some new ones – along with an influx of novice riders who recently completed the CTC/BRA course last month, has shown that the popularity of club racing is still evident. Also, many riders from past years have joined up again to blow away the cobwebs.

The new Freetech 50cc class has a full grid of riders chomping at the bit, and the newly-formed Streetstock 125cc class is gradually emerging to become a tightly competitive class this year. The re-introduction of the up to 500cc open class has also given a full entry of a huge variety of smaller bikes, and the usual support from the Classic 50cc Club is also welcomed. All of the other usual classes have had a superb entry, and the ever-popular 600cc grids are sure to be packed with excitement as the championships finally get under way.

Racing is on Sunday 1st May at Three Sisters, Wigan, with timed practice beginning around 10am, followed by the first race at approx. 11am. Entry for spectators is £5, with accompanied under 16’s free.
