This Sunday 21st October sees the final round of the 2012 Bowers Motorcycles/Eastern Centre Two Man Enduro Contest. The venue is at Foxborough Quarry, Halstead Road, Sible Hedingham and is organised by the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club. The first four team riders start at 10am followed by the rest of the teams, four every minute with each team member rider for 30 minutes then changing over to their team member who ten rides for the next 30 minutes and so on.

This is a 4 hour endurance event which may be split into 2 equal timed sessions and all teams will be competing on the gruelling infamous Foxborough course with its bogs and extreme sections. The 2012 Contest will be decided at the end of the day and in the Championship Class Stephen Revett/Lee Whitney are 2 points ahead of Adam Leeks/Darren Mayhew with Revett/Whitney having the upper hand as all of their points scored will count while Leeks/Mayhew can only score a maximum of 15 points.

Although Jason Morland/Julian Harvey lying in 3rd place could sneak a victory it is expected that Morland will be riding a Moto Cross event so it leaves it open for Mark Chapman/Adam Ranson and Tom Howe/James Yearley to battle for 3rd place. Michael Wyatt/Richard Bensley has already won the Experts Class with an unbeatable 28 point lead over Toby Morley/Stuart Milbourne with Sudbury pairing Graham Mays/Nigel Ross one point behind. It is a battle for 2nd place and can the pairing of May/Ross with a combined age of 97 years triumph over the younger pairing of Morley/Milbourne.
The Clubman Class is going down to the wire with Tom Sargent/Ross Taylor and Lewis Bond/Carl Honeywood equal on 72 points. Although there are 20 points for a win and 17 points for second place and with the best 5 rounds out of 6 counting a win for Bond/Honeywood and a 2nd for Sargent/Taylor would still be a tie because Bond/Honeywood worse score is 7 points while Sargent/Taylor’s is 4 points but they would win on best placings.

However if Bond/Honeywood finish 2nd and Sargent/Taylor finish 3rd the 2012 Contest would go to Bond/Honeywood unless they finish further down the field. It is unfortunate for the Sudbury pairing of Steve/Mark Green who were leading the contest after the 4th round as Steve fell off at the 5th round so they failed to score any points and looks like Steve is still unable to ride. The Green brothers have two teams a few points behind them and could drop down to 5th place. Sunday will be an exciting finish to the 2012 Contest.
