Quality Entry for Cock o'the North Continental Road Races

Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 10:38am

First run the 1955 and won by future world champion John Surtees, the annual Cock o’the North Continental Road Races has once again attracted a quality entry headed by 2010 & 2011 winner Ryan Farquhar.

Whilst the KMR Kawasaki rider will be hoping to complete a hat-trick of feature race victories, he will have five fellow countrymen - Michael Pearson, Derek Sheils, Davy Morgan and KMR team-mate Jamie Hamilton along with Michael Dunlop, subject to machine availability, who will be equally determined to take the coveted chequered cloth ahead of him on the day.

Add Mount Specialists Keith Pringle, winners of the recent Barry Sheene Road Race Festival, Ivan Lintin & James Coward, Mark and Mick Goodings, David Bell, Ben Wylie, Dean Harrison and Ian Watson Spring Cup victor Steve Mercer and the prospect of close exciting action is mouth-watering.
The Lightweight classes is headed by Chris Palmer with 87 race victories to his name so far at Oliver’s Mount, although the Isle of Man resident can expect to be harried by Paul Owen, Phil Harvey, David Guiney, James Cowton, Rodger Wibberley and the afore mentioned Davy Morgan and Ryan Farquhar who has 93 race wins to his credit to date.

The Cock o’the North Continental Road Races takes place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 21st & 22nd July 2012 with a minimum of 16 races catering for solo machines 125cc to Superbike and F2 Sidecars over the two days commencing at 1.00pm each day. Practice gets underway at 9.00am both Saturday and Sunday.

Admission on the gate is £20 each day, with camping available at £10 per night per pitch or £15 per night for motor homes and caravans. Children under 15 are admitted free when accompanied by an Adult.
