Round 1 of the Llangollen and District Championship

Round 1 of the eagerly awaited conducted championship got under way at Llyn Farm near Llangollen on 3/5/14. First round saw great numbers again for the club with 22 riders ready to get their championship underway.

A wooded area with 5 sections awaited the beginner and intermediate classes.  The beginners flowed in and out of the trees, where as the  intermediate route had some surprise off camber and rooty obstacles to negotiate.  Good line choice and throttle control was key in both classes.

Beginner results 3rd place Rhys Gelder on 24, 2nd Joe Chard on 18, and the winner was Jack Edwards on a great 10 marks lost.

Intermediate 3rd place Dylan Hayes who stepped up this year from the beginner on 28, 2nd Daniel Jones on 24 and 1st was Jenson Jones on 4, who will now step up to the hard route and we are sure he will do well.

For the hard route lads, they really did have some difficult sections to negotiate, as most of them have stepped up to the nationals in 2014 we tried to set out sections to test them all.  With 3 of their own sections and 2 of which we shared with the adult trial happening at the same time, it really give the lads a mix of everything.

C class winner on the hard route was Ryan Shepherd on his Beta 80, mastering the gears and the clutch ever so well with 13 marks lost.

D class on the hard route saw 3rd place Charlie Crossland on 32 this was his 2nd trial after breaking his wrist and really showed signs he was on the mend, 2nd was Morgan Shepherd on 30 on his 2nd outing on his new Mechatechno, taking 1st and the overall for the day on 11 marks was Lewis Hurdsman, who let a few dabs go on section 4.

Thanks to all who came and supported this event, thanks to Oset Bikes for event support, and JSC Construction Huddersfield who sponsored the rider of the day award that went to Will Hughes for giving up and battling through to the finish.
