What's on Weekly 11th and 12th August
This weeks ‘What’s on Weekly’ features more events from around the country. Here is a selection of just a few events taking place.

Motocross

This Sunday August 12th the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championship makes its way down to North Devon to Waggadon Farm, Nr Torrington for round 8 in the series. Apico Suzuki rider Jamie Skuse goes in to round 8 with a 33 points lead in the Expert Open Championship over local North Devon rider Luke Hill on the HPR/DirtbikeXpress Honda who will be on home soil and will be hoping to close that deficit in front of plenty of local support, but joining in with the action will be wildcard entry fellow Apico Suzuki rider Lewis Gregory, plus Luke Mellows, Darren Shears, Kelvin Townsend, Luke Blanchard, Jansen Day, Ryan Pryer plus many more. In the Junior Championship its Ryan Blee who leads the proceedings from Jake Owen but as with the last round there is plenty of other talent including young Loukas Maggio who now lies in 4th just 8 points adrift of Aaron Austin. Also featured will the over 35 Championship, over 40’s and over 50’s which has proofed to be very popular with many stars from the past all in action. Waggadon Farm is an excellent viewing track with easy access and will be signposted off the B3227 Barnstable to Torrington Road with the first race at 10-15am. (Postcode EX38 7HJ). Trials

The North Berks MC + LCC will be hosting a Double headed event on the weekend for the 11th and 12th August. On the Saturday the club will be hosting a Round of the ACU British Ladies Championship starting at 12am. The Ladies Championship will feature top riders including Cook, Bristow, Sunter, Whitham, Smith, Richardson and Bown. On the Sunday the Club will turn its attention to the Berks Bonanza Supertrial featuring the top British and International Trials Riders. Action will kick off at 11am and the entries include Dabill, Brown, Wigg, Challoner, Danby, Haslam, Morton, Richardson, Morphett, Wiggins, Robinson. Camping is available over the course of the weekend with refreshments, trade stands, toilets and ample parking on site. The action will be intense in Northumberland this coming weekend when the North East Centre ACU stage the weekend double header Luscombe Suzuki Leeds A.C.U. British Youth Trials Championship. The all-classes weekend fixture takes place at the spectacular Hope Farm venue where the prizes up for grabs include the Arthur Smith Trophies on both days. On Saturday the Youth C and D classes will have almost two miles of pasture and moorland to roam over a three lap distance and the menu is just the same on Sunday for Classes A and B. Start time will be 10.00 am on both days. Saturday contenders have five and half hours to complete the course while the Class A & B riders on Sunday have six hours. On a good night camping on site is available until Sunday evening. The Clerk of Course will be the legendary Fred Nicholson planting flags or telling his son Paul where to stick the in the ground. The Centre have again Newcastle major car parts and accessory factors A.V. Taylor Limited on board as sponsors of the trial for the fifth consecutive year. As far as class leaders the boys in lights are Jack Price, Dan Peace, Jack Peace, Bill Green, Edward Earle and James Marshland. Only Earle is off the hook as far as challengers. Price has Luke Walker and Dec Bullock on his trail with Welsh youth champion Iwan Roberts aiming to celebrate his sixteenth birthday on Saturday with a victory on Sunday. Dan Peace will have to concentrate as Shropshire’s Tom Minta is dead on form in the Youth B class. Toby Martyn makes the very long haul from Cornwall to take on Jack Peace for Class C standard but Bradford’s hot boy Kieran Child has been slaying the giants in his own parish for weeks. Bill Green also makes the long trip from Devon and should make it five in a row. James Mashland and Jamie Williams are neck and neck in Class D so that class is wide open.

Enduro

This coming Sunday 12th August will be the first 4 Man Team Enduro held in the Eastern Centre and is being staged by the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club at their historic course at Tye Farm Great Cornard near Sudbury. The meeting starts at 11am and runs for 4 hours nonstop and the first team member from each team will line up together and ride for 15 minutes and then handover their riding bib to their next team member who will then ride for another 15 minutes and this will continue on to the other 2 team members and when all have ridden once they start all over again. Currently there are 15 teams entered and at least 20 teams are needed to make the event viable and it is expected there will be a last minute rush from other competitors. Some of the members of the teams are the Roper brothers Stevie, Ricky and Jamie also cousins Craig and Ian. Other riders entered are Chris Hockey, Sam Toy, Chris Hart, Jack Berry and Kelvin Vant and much rivalry is expected from all of these riders. This type of meeting has been put on as a fun event and for something different for all riders and each team can be followed easily as each team member will have the same riding number.

Road Race

The Classic Racing Motorcycle Club is organising a race meeting as well as a Classic Festival celebrating Yamaha on the 11th and 12th of August at Donington Park . The itinerary consists of a packed programme of over 30 Classic and Post Classic solo and sidecar races including rounds of the ACU 350cc Post Classic Championship, the Wheatcroft Trophy Race and the European Vintage Cup. The meeting also features the official Yamaha Classic Race Team who will have a static display of 14 iconic classic works machines as well as on track displays with Phil Read and Steve Baker riding the Moto GP M1.Other stars in attendance include Jamie Whitham, Steve Parrish and Terry Rymer. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the TZ production race machine there will be a static display of every model produced. Action starts on track at 9a.m on both days with admission for adults at £15 and children under 16 free.
