OSET Victory at World Round

The Nord Vue World Round proved to be the best venue yet for an all electric trial. With four different routes, 40 E, D and C class riders impressed a huge crowd with their ability and have-a-go attitude. Entries came from across the UK and even included two young lads on OSET machines from the Czech Republic.

The Lakes Grass Track Racing Club who hosted the event and provided many of the observers delivered a trial where the hardest two routes were easily on par with small and medium wheels national events.

With no differentiation between rider-class, the youngsters were awarded places based on route ridden, and OSETs dominated the podium! Oliver Smith took the win on the hardest E4 route on his 20.0” OSET machine, while Henry Stephenson, Jak Heaney and Oliver Hutton all joined him to take firsts on their respective routes – all OSET riders.

Trials legend Steve Saunders was kind enough to step up and observe as the youngsters completed two laps of the eight section course.

James Dabill, hero to many of the riders, awarded the trophies and shook hands with all of the finishers.

Ian Smith, founder of OSET Bikes, said; “It was great that James and Steve were able to support the youngsters. To see so many OSETs competing in one place was amazing and everyone had a fantastic time. We were delighted to be able to welcome so many riders and their families back to the OSET stand where they were able to ride their bikes all weekend – at times it felt like we had as many spectators as some of the main sections!”

OSET also enjoyed podium finishes in the C and D class event on the Saturday as Oliver Smith was crowned double champion as he took the win on the medium wheel C-Class while Henry Stephenson took second in the D-Class – both of whom were competing head to head against petrol bikes on their 20.0” OSET machines.

Ian finished: “Nord Vue is a brilliant venue for trials riding from the very beginners like our four year olds right up to experts like Toni Bou and Adam Raga. To have both ends of the rider spectrum competing at the one venue is a great coup and we’re very much looking forward to next year…watch this space, who knows one of the OSET riders could be a world champion!”
