SWORD IN FOR BRITISH SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
Multi-time British Outdoor champ Stephen Sword is the latest top level rider to confirm for the five round Future West British Supercross Championship which is set to kick of at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena on October 22nd. The Lockerbie native will be contesting all five rounds of the Championship and is keen to add an indoor title to his collection and secure a slice of the £40,000 prize money.
Sword who missed the first round of last year's series at Belfast while recovering from an outdoor injury was in Belfast as a spectator and got the bug to race at The O2 Arena in London. Sword's British Supercross debut in London ended early with a tangle with fellow Scotsman Shaun Simpson that took him out for the evening. The resilient Sword was back in action at Liverpool two weeks later and took an impressive win in the British Supercross class and a 2nd in the SX1 Pro final behind then teammate Tom Church who clinched both the British and SX1 titles. Sword's stellar night in Liverpool showed that he has what it takes to be a contender in this year's mega series. Sword had this to say "I really enjoyed Supercross last year and I am looking forward racing the full series this years, having a round in the Braehead Arena in Glasgow will be something special for me"
