Dynamos Delight Donington
15 OSET Dynamo riders impressed a crowd in excess of 20,000 at this weekend’s British Superbikes at Donington Park. The youngsters aged 4 – 11 rode superbly, as they impressed the crowds with a display of skill, balance and control over a range of tricky obstacles. And 400 youngsters got to try out trials riding for the first time!

As well as demonstrating their riding ability, the children were given the opportunity to line up on the grid and ride the start/finish straight! The youngsters certainly captured the attention of the paddock, stopping many people in their tracks as they made their way to the circuit. The pit wall was lined with technicians and riders from the main factory teams, who were impressed by 11 year old Oliver Smith who wheelied the entire start finish.

Following their adventure on the grid, the Dynamos met Superstock 600 star, Ben Burke and were all very excited at the chance of sitting on a ‘real’ race bike. Ben said: “It’s always great to meet kids that are excited by our sport. Their enthusiasm for sitting on the bike is fantastic and it’s great that we can be one of the highlights of their weekend. Not only that, I reckon I could hear them all shouting for me as I went round Redgate!”

Ian Smith, founder of OSET Bikes, said: “This is the first time we’ve really presented the bikes to a road racing audience and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the reception we received. The Dynamos demonstrations were brilliant and showed exactly what the bikes are capable of. Trials UK managed around 400 free public rides across the two days which highlights just how keen kids and parents are in fun, safe riding.”

Bob Adams, track manager, Donington, echoed Ian, he said: “We were delighted to welcome OSET Bikes to Donington and the BSB. They certainly generated a lot of fascination from the crowd in the paddock and those watching the demonstrations. The kids displayed skill in abundance and watching their parade down the start finish straight was great to see but also very quiet – not a word you’d normally associate with the grid at Donington!”
