Final preparations are being made for the 5th round of the 2012 EMG/Eastern Centre Solo Enduro Championship to be staged at Oaklands Farm Chappel Essex on Sunday 23rd September. The organisers Sudbury Motor Cycle Club have arranged for a working party on the Saturday to lay out the course and they intend to include some new and additional pieces to be added to the overall course.

The meeting is split into two parts with the Clubman Class starting at 10am and riding the Hare & Hounds track for 2 hours nonstop followed at 1pm by the Championship and Expert Classes for another 2 hours. Entries will close four days before the event although so far the Clubman has attracted a near full house of 70 riders while there are 11 Championship and 7 Experts entered but this is expected to rise to an overall total of 40.

The Sudbury Club will be breaking new ground in running a Solo Hare & Hounds Enduro at Chappel as they usually run a 2 Man Team Enduro, however as usual they are up to the challenge. Latest news in the results of the 4th round has just been published with a win for Chris Hockey in the Championship Class, Jamie Roper 2nd, Julian Harvey 3rd Tom Braddock 4th and Steve Mason 5th. Hockey has increased his lead to 7 points over Roper while Jason Morland has dropped to 3rd place after not finishing last Sunday. Although Roper. Morland and Harvey can catch Hockey a 3rd place this Sunday or at the last round would secure Hockey a 9th win. A win for Toby Morley in the Expert Class puts him in 2nd place for the Title while there was a surprise 2nd place for Phil Roper with Phil Burton 3rd, Rob Blackman 4th and Richard Walters 5th. Burton has a 26 point lead for the year and again a 3rd place next Sunday or at the last round with give him the Title. Only Morley & John Bishop can overhaul him.

The Clubman Class saw a win for Paul Belton with James Pearson 2nd, Jez Moss 3rd, Gareth Young 4th and Jason Ager 5th while series leader Ian Tutton failed to finish. Tutton’s series lead has dropped to 7 points and needs to have top placings in the next two rounds as he can be overtaken by any of the next ten riders behind him.
