The Horsforth Motor Club managed to stage two major trials championship over the weekend at Parkwood Offroad Centre at Tong where the Youth Class C and D and the Ladies and Girls championship were decided. On Saturday forty three youngsters, girls and boys, took part in the final event in the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Trials UK sponsored British youth championship. #
Several classes included petrol and electric powered machines. Specifically the separate Oset Cup series catered for battery powered machines for riders from the age of four years. The open class winners were Kirkbymoorside’s Jack Peace who is Class C champion. Birmingham rider Daniel Slack won Class C medium wheels from Bradford’s Charlie Smith. Sadly Devon’s Billy Green, the new class champion, did not compete as his Beta machine, clothing, tools and spares was stolen from their transporter on Friday evening from outside a Bradford hotel where he halted for an evening meal. Jack Dance won CIass D medium wheels from Shrewsbury girl Alice Minta and new champion Edward Earle who rode Oset in the event. Class D small wheels Mansfield youngster Jamie Williams won from Ben Dignan and Dale Freeman. Championship rival James Marshman retired after six sections.
