Procedures & safety arrangements for events using Forestry Agreement Land

An outline of those Officials required for ACU permitted events held on Forestry Commission land under the auspices of the Forestry Agreement is below:

Clerk of the Course - Principle duties and Licence as of now.

                                     

Must acknowledge role of the Event Director with whom he must have constant contact 

 

Event Director - To be the central point of contact at the Control Centre where he must remain throughout the event.  NB where the Start venue is away from all action then the Control Centre can relocate to a fixed point at times stated in the S.R.  

The E.D. will be in constant contact with the C of C however if this communication line is broken he shall have the same powers as the Steward in regard to safety and force majeure and will be required to remain at the Control Centre for the duration of the event.

 

The Event Director must attend a licencing Seminar and possess a C of C licence of the appropriate grade for the event.

 

The Event Directors role may be carried out by

 

A specifically appointed official
  • The C of C providing the C of C is to remain at the Control Point throughout the event.
  • The Secretary of the Meeting .
  •  

    In all cases the Event Director must be in possession of a current C/Course licence of the appropriate grade.

     

    Event Safety Officer. -  

     

    For Enduro type events - Must possess an "Event Safety Officer" licence. 

     

    Training for the above licence to be via a seminar organised by ACU Head Office and held on a Regional basis of circa 3 hr duration.  

     

    Existing C of C's will be encouraged to attend these Event Safety Officer seminars.

     

    For Trial events:  A suitable person must be appointed.

     

    Chief Marshal:   The Event Organiser must appoint a Chief Marshal whose role and duties are defined in Art. 2.5 of the Procedures & safety arrangements for events using Forestry Agreement Land.
