Cook wins second round of the Ladies and Girls Trials
South Shropshire MCC hosted the second round of the ACU Luscombe Suzuki Leeds Ladies and Girls Championship at Hope Bowdler, Church, Stretton on Sunday April 13 2014. Isle of Wight former Ladies trials champion Becky Cook won the adult class in the second round of the Ladies and Girls trial championship at Church Stretton on Sunday.

Louth British Champion Emma Bristow took second place just two penalties behind Cook. Nikita Smith took third place from Chesterfield contender Jess Bown and Richmond teenager Chloe Richardson.

Class A was a battle between Navenby girl Louise Alford, Bristol’s Victoria Payne and Hurworth’s Beth Waite. Beth is competing above her age class this year.

In Class B local girl Alice Minta, from Telford, edged out Richmond’s Niamh Richardson, by a mere two penalties. The Skeeby teenager won a tiebreak with Isle of Man newcomer Sophie –May-Hardie.  Beth Watling grabbed seventh place for the Richmond club. North East Centre girls excelled. Amy Turpin took second place in Class C behind Bisley’s Hannah Moore.

Skipton schoolgirl Francesca Tattersall won the Inter Youth Class A from Durham youngster Olivia Pearson. Isle of Man police officer Saskia Baxter won the Inter class from Askrigg’s Robyn Alderson and Bury graffic designer Charlotte Kimber. Class champion Catherine Alford was placed fourth, exactly four weeks after an operation to cure a crucial ligament injury.

The third event in the series takes place at Low North Park, Scarborough on April 27 and will be organised by the Scarborough and District Motor Club.
