Following the Easter bonanza, the fast and furious world of drag bike racing is all revved up and ready to rock ‘n’ roll for round 2 of the ACU/UK Drag Bike Championships at Warwickshire’s Shakespeare County Raceway over the May Bank Holiday Weekend (4th/6th) for the 7th annual Springspeed Nationals.

No less that 10 classes from Funny Bike to Street Bike through to ET Brackets will be the order of excitement during 2 days of qualifying into eliminations day on Monday. In addition to the many car teams expected, the APIRA Nationals will see the debut of two new classes; ET Bracket Bike designed as a low budget feeder series to the bigger class series but run against dial-ins, while in the National Association of Supertwins, gone are the Fuel and Gas classes to make way for a more competitive Supertwins Comp class.

All of last seasons National Series Champions including Steve Venables (Super Street), Louis Davies (Junior Drag Bike) and APIRA Club Champions Mick Winyard and Team Furlong Tyres (8.50 & 9.50 Bike respectively), will be out to defend there titles they so desperately fought hard for in 2012.

In addition to all this action, this years Springspeed event features Tractor Pulling with the opening round of the Power Pulling Series. Expect to see some monster V8 Mini Modified’s and Junior Tractor’s getting down and dirty on the drag strips adjacent pulling strip. Qualifying and racing begin each day from 10.00 am.
