The trials venue will be signed off the A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road.
At the last round in the series, reigning British Champion Graham Jarvis won the event from Charnock electrician Shaun Morris who matched Jarvis with a final score of eight penalties. The final result could only be announced after two penalties were added to the scores. Jarvis will again ride the MRS Sherco four-stroke machine while Morris rides his JST Gas Gas. Scarborough’s Michael Brown, also an electrician, comes from a top result in the Scottish Six days Trial while Steve Colley comes to Wales in top form after his recent injuries. Ian Austermuhle, James Dabill, Lee Sampson, Ben and Dan Hemingway will not contest the event.
The trials course will follow the established format with three laps of twelve sections and a time allowance of two and a half hours for the first lap of the trial. The total time allowed to complete the course will be five and half hours. The Clerk of Course is Mr Phil Evans while Mrs Fleur Evans-Luter will act as Event Secretary. Practice will commence at 8.30 am on Sunday morning. The competition will start at 11.0 am. Rider starting order will be by ballot and status in standings and classes.
In the Expert Championship Lynton’s Joe Baker is just four points ahead of Bewdley teenager Ross Danby but Dan Thorpe, Chris Pearson, James Fry, Nigel Crellin and Robert Andrews will make inroads into the Championship leaders.
The non-Championship Youth Class features Jack Challoner and Jonathan Richardson but Somerset youth Ricky Wiggins and Herne Bay challenger Ben Morphett will threaten.
