WIRRAL HUNDRED TO DEBUT THIRD ANGLESEY CIRCUIT

The Wirral Hundred club which organised the first-ever road race meeting at the Anglesey circuit in 1992 and then ran the first event at the newly-developed circuit in 2007 is making history again. For the first and possibly the only time for a motorcycle race meeting, the Club will be using the 1.2 mile National Circuit over the weekend of 24th & 25th March.

Ongoing construction work on the new Control Tower & Pits Complex for the International and Coastal circuits means that the start-line and pit-lane will not be available, hence the decision to switch to the National circuit and the original (pre-2007) start-line and pit lane. The first corner will be the sweeping uphill right-handed School Corner, very similar in profile to the popular first corner on the original circuit; this will take riders up towards Rocket 1, Rocket 2 and Peel, and the second half of the lap will include the first part of the Corkscrew and the two long straights separated by the Hairpin.

The Club is organising a pre-season test day for ACU licence-holders on the Saturday 24th March, and the first race meeting of the season takes place the following day. Regulations and entry forms are available on the Club’s website www.wirral100.co.uk
