On this World Earth Day 2024, the ACU encourage all our organisers and members to do all they can to help with this great cause to reduce the number of plastics we use in everyday life. The world is throwing away so much plastic that the situation is becoming very difficult. As we are sure you are aware, plastic is polluting all walks of life from roads, rivers, soil and killing wildlife in the process. To date only 14% of plastics are recycled to make things again.
We ask that you all try and establish a household and events with as little plastic as possible and encourage all you know to reduce plastic use in all that we do.
The ACU support our FIM and FIM Europe Environmental Commissions in their work to:
- not use single plastics whether that be plates, bags etc
- reduce as much single-use plastic at and during our motorcycle events.
- use bottles and other equipment made from glass or metal that has multiple uses and can be better recycle and reused.
- recycle as much as possible from an event.
